About Me

Designer, director, and user advocate

I am an award-winning designer and team leader with over 15 years of experience. I currently lead user experience and digital design at the Office of Marketing & Communications at the University of Maryland. I have extensive agency experience as a UX and design lead for a range of organizations. Prior to that, I worked at Discovery Communications on web sites, mobile apps, and interactive experiences that helped to promote shows on Discovery’s family of networks including TLC, Animal Planet, and Discovery Channel.

Expertise

My expertise spans almost all media. I have experience in brand and print design, animation and video as well as web and digital including VR and AR.

Recognition

The Whale Wars interactive web experience won a Webby Award (Judge's and People's Choice) and was featured Web Designer Magazine. My work for ExxonMobil and Wurlitzer Digital Jukeboxes was featured in the book Becoming a Digital Designer by design writer Steven Heller.

Technical Expertise

Through my digital agency experience and background in front-end coding, I have developed strong collaboration skills with engineers and technical project managers.
